It appears as though President Obama has forgiven PSY for singing about ‘f**king Yankees’ — they shook hands at the White House on Dec. 9.
Before Korean rapper Psy had “Gangnam Style,” he sang about killing Americans. The King of YouTube was left red-faced when footage of him from 2004 revealed his anti-American past. Psy has since apologized for his actions, and it looks like President Barack Obama has forgiven him as well, shaking Psy’s hand at a White House charity event on Dec. 9.
Psy performed his signature hit “Gangnam Style” complete with horse dancing, a festive sweater and backup dancers wearing reindeer ears at the annual “Christmas in Washington” benefit at the White House. The event raises money for the Children’s National Medical Center, and the crowd appeared to really enjoy Psy’s festive performance!
Afterwards, President Obama stood up and shook Psy’s hand. Obama clearly holds no grudges to Psy. The Korean pop star apologized, saying, “I will forever be sorry for any pain I have caused anyone by those words.”
President Obama did not let the incident overshadow the benefit, as he said the event was “a chance to get in the Christmas spirit, spread some joy and sing along with artists who have much better voices than we do.”
He also said that everyone should count their blessings, and think of those who are less fortunate. “Those blessings aren’t just meant to be enjoyed, they’re meant to be used and shared with those who have less” said Barack. Wise words, Mr. President!
