‘Tis the season for lights and more lights! President Obama and the First Family flipped the switch at the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 6.

President Barack Obama rang in the holiday season on Dec. 6 as he and his family flipped the switch, lighting the National Christmas Tree in Washington D.C. and igniting the holiday season!

President Obama was joined by First Lady Michelle Obama, his two daughters Sasha and Malia and his mother-in-law Marian Robinson.

How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris hosted the 90th annual tree-lighting ceremony, which featured musical acts such as The Fray, Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, James Taylor and more. A crowd of about 17,000 joined the festivities at the Ellipse park that sits between the White House and the National Mall.

This year’s Christmas tree is a 28-foot blue spruce that was transplanted just days before Hurricane Sandy struck the East Coast. The special tree withstood the storm virtually unharmed!

Mr. President ended the evening joining in a singalong version of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.”

We just loved seeing the President and his family ring in the holiday season! But tell us what you think, HollywoodLifers!
