Kim announced on her blog that her adorable white Persian kitten Mercy died of a stomach problem at only four months. So sad!

The world let out a collective “awww” when Kim Kardashian debuted her precious little white Persian kitten in mid-September. The reality starlet, who named the kitty Mercy after boyfriend Kanye West‘s song, has announced that poor Mercy died on Dec. 7, at just four months old.

In a blog post entitled “Rest In Peace, Little Mercy,” Kim writes, “It is with deep sadness that I have to tell you all that my kitten, Mercy, has passed away. My heart is completely broken.” She goes on to explain that, after realizing she suffered from a surprise cat allergy, she had given Mercy to sister Khloe‘s assistant Sydney, who had recently lost a cat and could offer Mercy a happy home.

After just a few weeks, Kim writes, Mercy got really sick and was rushed to the vet, where it was discovered that the kitten suffered from “a stomach problem that we weren’t aware of.” Mercy passed away the next day.

Kim concluded her eulogy by writing, “Mercy was a gentle and loving kitten and we are all going to miss her so much. Thanks to Sydney for making Mercy’s short life one filled with love. RIP Mercy Xo.”
