A new report is alleging that Jenelle’s shotgun wedding to Courtland Rogers was because of his felony charges! But Courtland is speaking out for the first time — read on for all the details.
Jenelle Evans stunned Teen Mom 2 fans everywhere when she married her boyfriend of four months Courtland Rogers at a surprise courthouse ceremony on Dec. 4. Although she shot down reports that she got married because she was pregnant, her husband’s legal troubles could be the reason behind the quickie wedding.
Earlier in the day before their nuptials, Courtland was already at the courthouse — over felony charges!
“Courtland Rogers was charged with a felony in North Carolina on Tuesday for obtaining property by false pretenses,” a source told RadarOnline.com.
So why would Jenelle want to get married to a convicted criminal the day he’s being charged?
“Jenelle might be stupid enough to think that if she is married to Courtland then she won’t have to testify against him in his upcoming trial, but since the incident happened before they got married that isn’t the case,” another source told RadarOnline.
But Courtland tired to clear the air on Jenelle’s personal website jaceandjenelle.com, and defended his marriage.
“Check my records. I have not been in any trouble for the past seven years until recently. I have had somebody take false charges out on me, but that’s OK because I am innocent, so I will be OK,” he wrote.
Sounds like Courtland thinks he’s innocent. As far as he and Jenelle are concerned, they just got married for love!

if courtland says his innocent or was he just trying to be a bad boy now since he might just try to fit in jenelles lifestyle im sure he saw the show that jenelle is into bad boys anyways if she wouldn’t be on tv i don’t think it would be as easy for her to get anyone to date or even get married knowing that she already had a babys daddy. she just got lucky!!!!!

I do not know if he is innocent or guilty but after reading what he said and being from NC, I can say the laws there are a little messed up. NC are among very few, if not the only state that allows residents to file charges againsts each other. If I have not made that clear what that means is this, if I feel you have done me wrong, I go to the majestrates office and file my charge. At that time a warrant is issued for your arrested and they take you in and book you, then are issued bail and a court date. At the court date is when you prove your innocence or guilt. The reason I know this is because there was a big article in the paper about it where a local resident filed against a famous person. The famous person was arrested and had to go to court and everything. You do not need to involve the police. You just go down and ask for a paper to take a warrant out on someone.
