I can say that Christina has never been nice to Melanie. This poor artist is young and probably just couldn’t stand to take all of the negativity coming from Christina. Agreed… she will hear much more critical comments. BUT this is the Voice and Christina needed to not be sooooo rude and downright snobbish to her.

It was Melanie who was rude. When someone is addressing you do you look away? Please Christina had ever right to, as anyone would expect, respect.

I hope your aware of the reason why she was looking away (at Adam). Christina kept giving credit to someone else for the set Adam and Melanie came up with. And rightfully so, Adam made Christina look like a bimbo… Know your facts before you make yourself look like an idiot…

I can’t stand celebrities, thinking they are just owed undying attention. Get over yourself Christina.

Although I do think Christina’s critique was helpful in some aspects, she just gives off bad vibe and approached it in a very unnecessarily rude way to Melanie

I think Christina didn’t believe that Melanie deserved to be on the show compared to all of her contestants who didn’t make it quite as far as Melanie did so she probably thought it was necessary to bring down an innocent girl who was only looking to her coach for support after the SECOND time Christina commented on the set telling her that she better appreciate that the BACKSTAGE does that for her when it was clearly Melanie and Adams idea. It seemed she had too much pride to compliment Melanie directly and showed no appreciation for what clearly is Melanie’s creativity. Apparently she’s not aware that it takes more than a loud powerhouse voice to be an artist. With Melanie I could truly feel the emotions she conveyed in her songs which is something I never felt with any of Christinas. Melanie’s been signed and I’m looking forward to buying her album

She might be 17 but that’s not excuse for her to not pay attention to Christina. She signed her self up for the show if she can’t hack it like the rest it’s her fault. It was about time someone called that skunk beaver hybrid out. Way to go Christina.

“”As a child, Aguilera aspired to be a singer. She was known locally as “the little girl with the big voice”, singing in local talent shows and competitions. She attended Rochester Area School District and Marshall Middle School near Wexford. At the age of 8, Aguilera won her first talent show performing Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. On March 15, 1990, she appeared on Star Search singing “A Sunday Kind of Love”, but lost the competition at number 2. Soon after losing on Star Search, she returned home and appeared on Pittsburgh’s KDKA-TV’s Wake Up With Larry Richert to perform the same song. Throughout her youth in Pittsburgh, Aguilera sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, Pittsburgh Steelers football and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games, including during the 1992 Stanley Cup Finals. Her talent was kept a secret to avoid bullying of other children. Following her television appearances Aguilera experienced resentment and bullying including an incident in which her peers slashed the tires on her family’s car. She attended North Allegheny Intermediate High School briefly until she was home schooled following several incidents. Aguilera recalls, “doing what I did and maybe being a little smaller, I was definitely picked on and bullied for the attention that I got. It was definitely unwanted attention and there was a lot of unfairness about it.””

~so in esence she has become everything she has ran from in her childhood……POINT BLANK….

Seriously, it’s like no one here actually pays attention to Melanie during interviews, just look at her during the voice aftershows, she doesn’t give any attention to Christina Milian either.
Melanie needs to learn to be more professional and pay attention during these moments, she’s too in her world when people are talking to her, and her fans are just blinded by her cuteness to notice that Melanie really doesn’t pay attention to other people, or bother to put a smile on when the focus isn’t on her. She looked more and more like she didn’t want to be on the show ever since it went live whenever the focus isn’t on her especially with that sour look.
As for the comments on her stage setups? What else was there to talk about when week after week it’s been the same somber song after another for MM? She didn’t get a lot of chances to change it up or enhance her voice, and with sets like hers that stand out MORE than the little girl in the middle of it, it drew too much attention away from her voice.

She doesn’t need to change her style or range of voice. She’s an artist and stuck more to her core values then any other contestant on the show. And as far as being live……she’s young….all this was new for her. To be heard in the manor she has given was the greatest possible thing to happen. Have you heard any of her original stuff….?

um……………………………………….helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, what 17 year old pays attention????????? give her credit for her abilty to tackle such a challenge ran and controlled by adults. when she gets older her views and opinions will change if they havent already, and as for her being eliminated–BIG MISTAKE——-this girl is just getting started so wait till her voice begins to sound more like an adult and she learns and realizes just how powerful her voice can potentially become. i doubt this is the last of Melanie, and it may have been on the subconscious level but christina has fear in her eyes and that fear is someone younger than her getting all the attention.

I just find it hypocritical to judge a young girl for starring off for a couple minutes when you have texted during people’s performances. And Christina honestly seems like she does not like Melanie Brown. She gives her dirty looks when she’s critiquing her. She did the same thing to Naya Kette(Sorry for misspelling her name if I did). Seems like she hates the beautiful, exotic, talented multi-racial Black girls, but caters to all the White or Hispanic girls. She showed some pretty strong bias toward Casidee Pope although Amanda gave two amazing performances. Beauty comes in all forms. I got offf subject to prove my point, but yes she was subtley rude to Melanie and Melanie didn’t deserve that, but I think it was more ego driven, like pay attention when I, Queen Christina is speaking. Still wrong though. She needs to get over herself! Thank God she’s leaving! Shakira is cool!

If Christina wasn’t leaving The Voice next seasons I’d stop watching.

I’m watching to see fresh voices come out of the woodwork and get guidance, not to watch a monstrous woman that doesn’t remember what its like to be on that stage tear apart a very talented 17 year old girl.

She likes to remind us she failed on Star Search when its to promote her failed (and annoyingly generic) contestant, yet when its another girl…

Oldtina jealoustina is so damn stupid to give a compliment to some guy who worked on the Voice who does the sets, staging and props for Melanie. Faketina wasn’t even observant enough to see that anyone with a brain would know that Melanie did the props and staging herself along with her coach Adam on both sets. The first set had manicans with bows on their heads and guitars. One manican even had Melanie’s dress on from a previous night and faketina is so shallow and big headed that she didn’t even notice. Unbelievable I used to like Aguilara but now I’m so happy she’ll be gone next year so she won’t be able to bash someone who is more talented than her. To have the balls to say “she’s not even looking at me” was jaw dropping! Why the heck would Melanie or anyone want to look at someone who is so stupid to not notice what a true artist Melanie is. So much more of an artist than the hater Aguilara is. WOW!!!

Then she tried helping by trying to out do her while recommending to sing another song. That shows the level of matureness (none) that Christiana has. Before The voice i believed she was a great singer but after this , i will never respect her as a person.
Melanie has won over my heart and i will definitely be a fan for life.

Christina did nothing but give her an honest, useful critique. People are so stupid jumping down Christina’s throat for being the only judge that doesn’t straight up LIE and tell someone their performance was perfect when it was not. Melanie did an interview after the show saying she actually thought Christina’s critique was SPOT ON and that she loves Fiona Apple and wanted to go in that direction all along (aka, Adam pushed her to do the cutesy stuff when she wanted to be more Fiona like. Christina’s accuracy was taken to the next level the next night when Melanie chose to sing.. (gasp!) the song that Christina suggested to her the night before! She was then eliminated (not surprising, since she was weak), but I find it funny that people lambasted Christina for actually doing what she’s paid to do…while Melanie actually appreciated the critique and took it to heart…even performing the song Christina wanted her to.

In my opinion people weren’t upset with Christina’s critique (I agree, her song suggestions for Melanie were awesome), but it was more about how, MULTIPLE times on the show, Christina started off her comments to Melanie by giving props to the band or the stage director or anyone but Melanie herself. That’s not helpful critique. That’s rude. And in this particular instance, I think Melanie was looking to Adam for backup after Christina complimented the stage design and attributed that to someone else, even though it was Adam and Melanie’s idea. She was looking over to her coach for a split second, and Christina called her out? Unnecessary. She would never have treated one of the older contestants with that kind of disrespect. And I just find it amusing how on a lot of the critiques to the other contestants, too, Christina finds a way to bring the conversation back to herself. It’s supposed to be about the participants. I’m a fan of her music and of her critique style when she truly is giving critique, but after watching the show, I just get a bad vibe from her. She comes across as quite condescending and self-centered. With Melanie it was straight up rudeness.

I would have ‘zoned out’ too! It appeared the only good things Christina had to say about Melanie the last two weeks, was about the set. And that was directed to show designer. It was looked as if she was looking to Adam for some support, which did come when he mentioned they were responsible for set ideas. Of the Top 6, I felt Nicolas and Melanie are only artists that show something more than Top 40 cookie cutter singers.

Welcome to the real world, Melanie. There’s no way to go around the fact that she brought nothing to the table other than repeating a song the same way as the original artist did. The show is called The Voice, not a nice setup in the background.
