Kate remains in the hospital and hadn’t even planned to tell the royal family she was expecting until Christmas. However, acute morning sickness forced the early baby announcement.
Prince William will be back at his wife Kate Middleton‘s bedside on Dec. 4 for the second day, as she stays in King Edward VII hostpial for acute morning sickness known as huperpermesis gravidium– but the royal couple has been assured the condition is not dangerous for mom or baby.
Clarence House told the Daily Mail that Kate is expected to spend the next few days in the hospital, and will need a “period of rest.”
But the exciting baby news on Dec. 3 came prematurely. The Duchess of Cambridge is not yet 12 weeks along, and was hoping to make the announcement with her husband on Christmas Day when she felt she was far enough long.
Catherine’s trip to the hospital, coupled with intense media speculation, forced the baby announcement early. Regardless, both sides of the family — and most of the rest of the world — are “elated,” and Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton is expected to visit soon.
