Let the games begin! The royal couple just made their exciting announcement on Dec 3., and already bets have begun on everything from the baby’s name, to the color of his or her hair!
Prince William and Kate Middleton started a social media frenzy on Dec. 3 when they announced they are expecting their first child! But not even a day later, and bets already started about the royal baby, with many people wondering what his or her name will be.
Although the name Diana has been thrown out frequently in honor of William’s late mother Princess Diana, the online sports betting agency William Hill has listed Elizabeth as a favorite with 8 to 1 odds — Diana has 12/1 odds.
Not only would the name Elizabeth be in honor of Will’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II — Kate also has a grandma named Elizabeth.
Other names with high odds are Charles — in honor of Will’s dad — with 10/1 odds, and Frances, with equal 10/1 odds.
Because members of the royal family tend to choose more traditional names (William, Harry, Philip, Charles etc.), out-of-the-box name Rylan has a mere 1000/1 odds!
More bets are also in the works, including the baby’s hair color, eye color and date of birth!

Diana’s brother Charles named his youngest daughter Charlotte Diana, so Charlotte is out. Alexandra Diana Georgiana Elizabeth Alexandra = Alexandra of Denmark (Camilla’s great-grandmother Alice Keppel was mistress to Alexandra’s husband King Edward VII). Diana = William’s mother. Georgiana = Georgiana Spencer (Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire – Diana was her great-great-grandniece via an illegitimate daughter). All three women share a similar life. Elizabeth = self-explanatory For the male version, Alexandra to Alexander. Diana’s middle name was Frances, Francis for male, Georgiana to George and Elizabeth replaced with Michael to honour Michael Middleton.
