The troubled ‘Teen Mom 2’ star and her new fiancé tied the knot in a quick courthouse wedding on Dec. 4! Read on for all the details.
Jenelle’s sister Ashleigh Evans Wilson, whom Jenelle is taking to court, broke the news to the website. “My sister got married this morning, it was a shotgun courthouse wedding. My mother was totally shocked and had to hear it from someone else. Our whole family is shocked because they have not been dating for very long.”
Ashleigh, who believes Jenelle, 20, did this to distract from recent drug accusations, continued, “At this point, after all that she has been through, she should know better than this.”
Could Courtland’s Legal Troubles Be The Cause For The Shotgun Wedding?
The newlyweds, who were accompanied only by two courthouse employee witnesses, were wed after Courtland was charged with a felony in the same courthouse. “Courtland Rogers was charged with a felony in North Carolina on Tuesday for obtaining property by false pretenses,” a source tells Radar. “Straight after that court hearing was finished, Jenelle and Courtland got married at the magistrate’s office.”
The source believes Jenelle married Courtland so quickly because of this felony charge. “Jenelle might be stupid enough to think that if she is married to Courtland then she won’t have to testify against him in his upcoming trial, but since the incident happened before they got married that isn’t the case,” the source says.
Courtland’s next court date is set for January 3, 2013.
