Thanksgiving came late to the upper East side, but what an exciting occasion it was! Blair dressed up as a Native American, Dan got punched by Nate and Serena had to deal with the return of Steven!

The holidays are always stressful, and no one understands that better than our favorite Upper East Siders, as Turkey Day came one week late on Gossip Girl due to that pesky hurricane Sandy. Dan (Penn Badgley) and Serena (Blake Lively) decided to have a small, intimate gathering for Thanksgiving at chez Van der Woodsen, but all hell broke loose when S accidentally invited Steven (Barry Watson) and his evil daughter Sage! Cue the ruffling of feathers — and that is not a turkey pun.

The four most ‘OMG’ moments of the night:

#1 The return of Steven!

As orchestrated by Blair (Leighton Meester) and evil Sage, Serena “accidentally” bumped into Steven in a grocery store and invited him and Sage for dinner. Why did she think that would be a good idea?! He and Dan had a wannabe-macho conversation as to who would win Serena’s heart, and it all depended on which chapter Dan published next! Cue the interception of evil Georgina (Michelle Trachtenburg), and Dan’s condemning Serena chapter was released. Serena ended up heartbroken; so which guy did she choose to be with? Dull Steven or manipulative Dan? The answer is: neither! GG‘s resident blonde found herself single for once, and she looked so confused she could cry.

#2 Bart Bass is a killer?

Chuck (Ed Westwick) was depressed, drunk and he had that mangy dog whimpering at his door. Just when he thought his day couldn’t get any worse, irrelevant Nate (Chace Crawford) showed up, but Nate proved his worth because  he was determined to help sad Chuck take down Bart Bass! Nate and Blair managed to hack Bart’s files and discovered that he was responsible for two mysterious deaths, which occurred to cover up his illegal oil deals. With Lily (Kelly Rutherford) enlightened to his super shady dealings, she and Chuck realized they’re in grave danger from the silver fox. Thankfully Lily got the hell out of there in time, but things aren’t looking good for Nate, as he is still indebted to Bart — and we have a feeling he will pay.

#3 Nate punches Dan!

Nate  is an angry guy, probably because he’s annoyed that he’s stuck being the most forgettable character. However, he did something exciting for once when he punched that despicable Dan Humphrey in the face! After Georgina released Dan’s vicious portrayal of Serena, he realized just how unpopular he was when he got kicked out of the Van der Woodsen home — but not before beautiful Nate hit him hard in the face. Just like Macbeth’s, Dan’s downfall was inevitable, and he skulked off back to Brooklyn where he began writing “The Last Chapter.” How intriguing! And not before Bart offered to be his ally. (Don’t do it, Dan!)

#4 Relationships are mended

While Serena became single and Lily may be running scared from her terrifying husband, other relationships took a nicer turn. Nate reunited with slightly-less-evil Sage, and Chuck and Blair got back together for the 415th time. My favorite part of the episode was their pact to take down Bart, as Chuck asked Blair, “Will you go to war with me?” I have a feeling Bart may finally get his “just desserts” next week. It’s been another exciting day on the Upper East Side!

What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Will Chuck manage to take down Bart?

This season is definitely headed towards an interesting end; I can’t wait to see what happens. Serena inviting Steven and Sage to dinner was incredibly foolish. Though Dan acted impulsively in posting the bad story, nothing he wrote was anything but the truth. A coworker at DISH and I have been trying to guess what his final chapter will be. We think that it’s possible it will be a chapter about himself, providing some insight to his way of thinking. I am actually very intrigued to see how this show will conclude, I am glad I won’t miss the remaining episodes with my DISH Hopper. With my busy schedule, it is set to automatically record all of the seasons of my favorite shows. The 2,000 hours of recording space is more than enough room for everything I watch. I was disappointed by the beginning of this season, but these recent episodes have made up for that. Dan’s evolution has been fascinating to watch, it seems like he may be planning something bigger than anyone realizes.
