Taylor was awarded the 2012 Ripple of Hope Award at the RFK Center’s annual gala — hosted by the family of the pop star’s ex, Conor Kennedy! Talk about an awkward moment!
When Taylor Swift was chosen as a recipient of the 2012 Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights, it was July and the Red star was still dating Conor Kennedy. Cut to Dec. 3, the evening of the gala — Taylor and Conor are broken up, she’s in a new relationship with Harry Styles, and she’s being honored by her ex’s family! Awkward!
Taylor looked gorgeous walking the red carpet in a very feminine, knee-length gold dress. If she was nervous about being around Conor’s family, including his father, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., she certainly didn’t show it.
The Ripple of Hope Award “lauds leaders of the international business, entertainment, and activist communities who demonstrate commitment to social change,” according to the center. Congrats on the prestigious honor, Taylor!
Do you think it was awkward for Taylor to be around Conor’s family, HollywoodLifers?
