In a shocking turn of events, it’s been revealed that Jovan Belcher’s mother, Cheryl Shepherd, witnessed the Kansas City Chiefs player murder his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins. How sad.
Kansas City Chiefs player Jovan Belcher murdered his 22-year-old girlfriend Kasandra Perkins in front of his mother Cheryl Shepherd after he reportedly assumed she was having an affair with R&B singer Trey Songz! After shooting the mother of his child dead, Jovan drove to Arrowhead stadium and killed himself in front of his coach and general manager in Kansas City on Dec. 1.
The couple’s 3-month-old baby, Zoey Michelle Belcher, was unharmed on Dec. 1 and is in the care of Jovan’s mother, Cheryl Shepherd, 58, Kansas City Police said. Shockingly, according to Newsday, Cheryl witnessed her son shoot Kasandra “multiple times” Saturday morning in their home, police say. How horrific.
Cheryl’s relatives told the New York Post on Dec. 2 that she will care for her infant granddaughter back at the Long Island home where she lives and where Jovan, 25, grew up.
Cheryl said on Dec. 2 that her family was heartbroken over both deaths. ”Right now, we are grieving for Kasandra and Jovan,” she said. “We are in mourning.”
