According to a new report, Emily and her in-laws are at war, as she plans to move to LA with Ricki for the sake of her career. Read on for all the details.

Emily Maynard is currently engaged in a bitter war with her in-laws, as a new report suggests that she is planning to move to LA to pursue a career in showbiz, and she is taking her daughter Ricki Hendrick with her. And the parents of Emily’s late fiance Ricky Hendrick are not happy about it, as they feel Emily is “putting her own thirst for fame” ahead of Ricki’s well being.

Seven-year-old Ricki’s grandparents Rick and Linda Hendrick are horrified at the possibility that Emily might move their beloved granddaughter Ricki out of Charlotte N.C., to the bright lights of LA. Ricki’s father Ricky was killed in plane accident in 2004, and she is all they have left of him. A source tells Radar Online:

“Rick and Linda were horrified by the news that Emily wants to move to California. They can’t bear the thought of Ricki being that far away from them, she is the one thing that makes the pain of losing their son tolerable. They see so much of Ricky in their granddaughter, they love her to pieces and have become incredibly close to her — she keeps the memory of Ricky alive.”

“Both Rick and Linda are concerned that Emily is putting her own thirst for fame before the best interests of her daughter, and that as Ricki isn’t able to have her father in her life, it is even more important for her to be surrounded by close family, and that obviously wouldn’t be the case if she was moved from North Carolina to California.”

Ricki’s granddparents never wanted Emily to star in The Bachelorette in the first place, and they simply want Ricki to have a normal upbringing.

“Rick, Linda and Emily do not speak at all now, aside from having to make arrangements regarding Ricki. They are majorly feuding. It’s pretty much the general consensus back home that fame has drastically changed Emily, it’s gone to her head, and Rick and Linda are concerned over how that is affecting their granddaughter. Emily appears more concerned with making it big than being a mom.”

Yikes! Emily seems a totally and utterly devoted mom to us, but uprooting Ricki to LA would be a drastic change for such a young girl.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Is Emily more concerned about fame than her daughter?

Interesting that every picture of the daughter she’s dressed in non matching clothes and hair in her face. Yet mom always looks nice. What’s Emily going to do when Ricki is a beautiful young woman and she has to compete with her?

I’m going to agree with Veronica. First of all, the Hendricks are not Emily’s in-laws; she was never married to their son. They are Ricki’s grandparents – that is all – and unless they are funding Emily and Ricki, they have no say as to where they move or what they do. If they ARE funding, Emily has to cut the strings immediately, if she’s serious about a move. She can’t have it both ways.

It is tragic what happened to the Hendrick’s son. And they will always be Rikki’s grandparents. But they have no right to make decisions about Rikki. That’s Emily’s job. Emily has spent 7 years living life for Rikki. Now she wants to do something for herself. What’s wrong with that. She is not abusing Rikki or neglecting her. And I don’t think she will ever change her devotion to Rikki and being a mom. I’m sure she will always love Rikki’s dad. But she can’t continue to live in the past. If the Hendricks are as close to Rikki as they say, they will mend the relationship with Emily and make every effort to visit Rikki in California. Because Emily doesn’t have to let them be a part of Rikki’s life. They could be risking losing that relationship.

I understand that its not a requirement to allow them to be a part of Ricki’s life. But it would be cruel for Emily to cut them out of her life at this point when she already loves her grandparents. I dont think the grandparents or Emily are setting a good example by buying Emily a job and for Emily to not work but take monthly checks from Rickis grandparents.

OK…The general public don’t like Emily because she’s a stay at home Mom and don’t work outside the home. They don’t like her because she’s living off of dead Ricky’s money. They don’t like her because all she does is shop. Now…I guess the public don’t like her because she’s trying to pursue a career. It’s a no win situation.!!!
