Damon & Elena’s latest obstacle seems insurmountable, but Julie Plec says they’ll just ‘have to figure out how to get around it.’
The Nov. 29 episode of The Vampire Diaries may have ended on a peculiar note — just as Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) finally had sex, we learned she’s been sire-bonded to him — but fear not, there’s good news for fans! Well, there’s good news for Delena fans, at least. Executive producer Julie Plec tells Zap2it “there is more hope than ever” for the blood-lusty couple, even if their relationship is indefinitely more complicated.
Julie tells the site that even though Elena has finally given Damon the “love and acceptance” he’s searched for his entire life, he will begin to question how much of that is due to the sire bond, just as many fans — myself included — feared at the end of the episode. And for the record, Elena does believe her feelings are real.
“There’s that nagging doubt, as to how much of it is true love and how much is the effects of a sire bond,” she admits. “It’s a question that’s going to take these two people who do care about each other so deeply, and just put the tiniest bit of an obstacle in their path. They have to figure out how to get around it.”
As for Stefan (Paul Wesley), Julie admits “he might actually be right, that this is not who she is and this is not who she’s supposed to be, so his desire is to try to correct that at all costs.”
She also says Elena and Damon’s sire story has been in the works for a while — ever since Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) sire story was introduced, in fact — and that it was a “natural conclusion” for Damon to be the one to bond her.

It is disgusting!!! I hate the story!! What couldn’t they left it as budding romance and just increased feelings!! Yes, there is possibly real love but she CAN NOT control how she acts around him! So yes Elena loves Damon – but does it make Elena want to have sex? Damon can tell her to have sex every three hours and with the sire bond – she should obey! Utter Disgust!! I am a Stelena fan, but if Delena is what’s happening (mainly due to Ian and Nina dating, most likely and Nina begging for a wedding) that make free will!!! Vampire Diaries is a good show, but why make Damon/Elena superficial!! So now we can’t know for sure if the events in the future are going to be actual flow or fake due to bond! DISGUSTING!!

damon and elenas story is soo Amazing, its a journey for them.. stefan and elena was just to easy coming, it should also be easy going.. :) delena<3
