America sent two more artists home tonight, amid a flurry of standout musical performances, including one that involved the Muppets! Read on for more.
Tuesday nights on The Voice are always bittersweet. We generally get some great musical performances, like tonight’s standout between coach Cee Lo Green and Kermit the Frog, but we also have to say sayonara to two singing hopefuls. And tonight, one coach was left with no one left in the game!
Amanda Brown and Trevin Hunte opened the show with Lady Gaga‘s “Marry The Night”. Inspired idea to bring these two back together after their show-stopping duet during the battle rounds, but the song didn’t allow much opportunity for the two of them to really let loose. Amanda sure looked like she was having a blast though!
The Muppets took over as Cee Lo performed with Kermit! As a giant Muppets fan, this was so much fun for me. Cee Lo’s all green outfit, however, made my eyes bleed. Seeing them sing “It’s Not Easy Being Green” was a blast. Fun for you, too?
Cody Belew, Melanie Martinez, Nicholas David, and Terry McDermott joined forces on “Rhythm of Love” by the Plain White T’s. This little quartet sounded lovely. This isn’t one of my favorite songs, but it was a really great performance.
Cassadee Pope and Dez Duron tackled Ne-Yo’s “I Hate That I Love You”. First of all, I hate Ne-Yo, and I particularly loathe this song. This performance was already at a disadvantage when it came to this viewer. And then Dez was involved. Meh.
-First artist safe was Cassadee. No surprise there. This girl is going all the way, I’d bet.
-The second artist saved was Amanda. My two frontrunners. Do I know how to call them or what?
-The third artist saves was Melanie. Team Adam’s final two are here for another week!
-The fourth artist saved was Nicholas. This left Cody, Dez, Trevin, and Terry to duke it out for the last two spots. At this point, I was readying myself to say goodbye to Cody and Trevin.
-The final two saved were Terry and Trevin, sending Cody and Dez home. Color me surprised by Dez’s elimination! Do you think coach Christina Aguilera will totally check out now that she doesn’t have an artist left in the game?
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did the right two go home tonight? Let me know in the comments below!
