Selena dazzled in Dolce & Gabbana at the UNICEF Snowflake Ball in NYC on Nov. 27 — was Justin there to escort her down the red carpet? Read on to find out!

Selena Gomez attended the UNICEF Snowflake Ball, the charity’s biggest fundraiser of the year, on Tuesday, Nov. 27. With her on-again off-again beau Justin Bieber in town, due to perform at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 28 and 29, it would have been the perfect opportunity for the Biebs to make a romantic gesture and support the one he loves. So did he?

Sadly, Justin wasn’t on hand at the event, but Selena carried on like a pro. HollywoodLife.com was there as Selena enjoyed the evening, dazzling everyone with her gorgeous black Dolce & Gabbaba gown. She came with three girlfriends and was in a good mood, but pretty quiet until she left at 10:45 out of the back entrance — was she missing Justin?

Luckily, Selena wasn’t the only pop star in the house without her other half: Katy Perry was in attendance sans John Mayer, as well.

We bet that Justin wishes he could have made it, but he must have had other pressing professional commitments relating to his tour!

I think Justin needs to be able to lead his own life for awhile. he has been made into a caricature by his managers – innocent boy, goody goody. Bieber should just be himself, have fun, he’s only 18. I know Selena is nice and all, but at 18 Justin is too young to settle down with another person who will tell him what to do, how to act, what to say. Why do we villify him because he wants to live a little. He should date and have fun for several years, not marry young and divorce later. I don’t overly care for his music, but he should enjoy his life – it doesn’t always have to be about showing up in glamorous outfits for various charities, looking all innocent and perfect. Yeesh – at 18, you should be working, travelling, meeting new people, dating. Americans seem to value doe-eyed innocence above all else, like it’s a virtue or something. I prefer the 1D guys- they are having fun and are honest about it. Maybe the Brits are on to something. As for Ms. Gomez style, yes she looks nice, but whether she looks nice or not shouldn’t be the deciding factor in how we feel about her – her portfolio of artistic work should do that. I don’t like or dislike celebrities by the number of times they get photographed at events such as these, but rather by the content of their artistic work. We are putting the emphasis on the image rather than the substance.
