Such a tragedy. After an Ohio mother reported her toddler missing on the playground, police found his lifeless body at a waste treatment plant — and now the mom is being investigated for the horrific crime.
Camilia Terry, 20, was arrested on Nov. 26 after her son, Emilliano Terry, 3, was found dead at a waste treatment plant in Cleveland, Ohio.
Police say they are holding the young mom at the Cuyahoga County Jail to await charges on the toddler’s death.
“We come here with heavy hearts, I’m sure you understand. Today, at approximately 4 o’clock, a body of a small child matching the description of Emilliano Terry was discovered at a waste treatment plant in Oakwood Village,” Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath said, according to ABC News.
He added that they are treating the case as a homicide rather than an abduction or missing person.
On Nov. 25, Camilia called police and reported her son missing from a playground, where she was with another one of her kids.
After her statements didn’t add up, police decided to investigate further — and tracked a garbage truck down that had picked up trash from Camilia’s neighborhood. At the waste treatment plant, they found poor Emilliano’s body stuffed inside trash bags.
Such a tragedy. We hope justice is served in this case, and our thoughts are with poor Emilliano’s family.
