Who should win the mirrorball trophy? The three finalists wowed during the last week of competition. Read the full recap below!
Dancing with the Stars: All Stars‘ has produced some of the best dancers EVER. The Nov. 26 episode gave us some of the best dances we’ve ever seen — first, in the favorite repeat dances and also in the brand new “supersized” freestyle dances!
The Dancers Repeat Their Favorite Dance
Kelly & Val danced their repeat dance to the Paso Doble, earning a score of 29.5/30 from the judges. “Kelly, You burned the floor like an awesome fire angel fueled by passion, driven by desire!” Bruno said.
Melissa & Tony (the only finalists who haven’t won before) danced the Samba for a score of 30/30! ”Melissa, the deliciously, irresistible Brazilian bombshell, what a wonderful blend of moves! Your technique is great, but what is good to see is your confidence. You’ve grown so much as a performer. You really have blossomed and it’s fantastic to see,” Bruno raved.
Shawn & Derek did their Quickstep for a score of 27/30. “What you have achieved is truly sensational. We are bound by the rules but it takes nothing away from what you have achieved,” Bruno reassured even though they broke the rules by breaking form (again).
The Supersized Freestyle Round
The couples were allowed to choose the music, costumes, include lifts, extra dancers — basically, do whatever they want!
Kelly & Val danced first to “Time Of My Life,” complete with aerials and Val playing the violin! The couple got a total score of 29.5/30. “The interpretation of the dance was superb,” Bruno raved.
Melissa & Tony danced to “I Was Here” with tons of lifts and beautiful lines for a score of 30/30! “That was the perfect setting to showcase all of your extraordinary qualities. Fantastic extensions, beautiful lines, sculptural positions, musicality and lyricism. A gem!” Bruno said.
Shawn & Derek enlisted the help of the Fierce Five Olympic Gymnasts for a super acrobatic performance and a standing ovation! The routine got them a score of 30/30. “Gold medal performance!” said Len. “Fierce, flawless, exciting brilliance!” Bruno raved!
Melissa and Tony took the lead with 60/60, Kelly and Val got a 59/60 and Shawn and Derek were at the bottom with 57/60.
Tomorrow, the dancers will have another round of dances that will complete the judges scores in the finale but voting is ONLY open tonight only!

Even though Shawn and Derek are at the bottom of the scoring board, they are still the best dancers. The only reason they got a low score is because they kept breaking the rules in their favorite dance. Personally, I loved that dance and thought it was one of their best, until their freestyle. Since I work at DISH on Monday nights, I always have to wait until the morning to watch DWTS. With my DISH Hopper, I can use Auto Hop since DWTS is recorded with the PrimeTime Anytime feature. I get through DWTS in less time, since it skips over the commercials for me, and I still have time to get the kids off to school. Shawn and Derek’s freestyle dance was the best I have seen throughout all the seasons. She is my favorite dancer of all time, and she definitely deserves the Mirror Ball for a second time.
