Paige took a risk performing Britney’s breakup song, allegedly about Justin Timberlake, on the Nov. 21 episode of ‘The X Factor.’ Paige tells exclusively that even though she loves Britney, she was terrified that the ‘Everytime’ singer would be mad.

Paige Thomas surprised fans when she sang Britney Spears’ very own breakup song “Everytime” during the Nov. 21 episode of The X Factor.

Paige was asked by our very own reporter Russ Weakland if she was nervous to sing Britney’s tune, allegedly about her breakup with Justin Timberlake, in front of her. “I’ve been a fan of [Britney’s] for so long, so when I found out that she was one of the judges it was one of the main reasons I auditioned. Every time she’s played Arizona I have seen her, she’s amazing. And when I heard that song, I was like yes, I have been dying to do a Britney Spears song. It’s one of her best songs ever.”

Awkwardly, the song is allegedly about Britney’s public and very sad split from Justin Timberlake in 2003. While Paige was a bit worried about that, she didn’t let it stop her from singing the song.

“I was worried about that. Like I said, I am a Britney fan and after initially hearing the song I felt cool, let’s do it. But when we started working on it I thought this is going to hurt me or help me. To me that song is not about breaking up, I see it more about my dark past meeting the future positive me. Shedding one persona and moving into a new light. But right before I went on stage I told my vocal coach I was so nervous. I couldn’t believe I was doing it, am I crazy? But life is about taking risks and if you don’t you never know what you can do.”

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Were you happy Paige chose “Everytime”  or was it wrong of her?

OK. I’m sorry, but WTH?! Demi made her wear a ‘sea urchin’ as a hat. I mean come on!! She did the same thing with jenal. and look wear that got her. Urgh. I lost interest in Paige after that. She had got turned into a Lady Gaga costume person. Sorry for being negative, she has a great voice but Demi ruined it for me.

I’m not the biggest fan of Paige’s and I’m not sure she did the song justice, but it’s hard to hold that against someone when they’re clearly emotional. I was a little surprised she didn’t get eliminated, though. I think her days on this show are probably numbered. I work late nights at DISH so I’m not usually home to watch The X-Factor live. Thankfully, my DISH Hopper has me covered. I never even have to set any DVR timers because I have the Prime Time Anytime feature turned on. Everything on each of the four major networks gets recorded for me automatically during the prime time hours. It makes my life much easier.
