Poor Taylor. The country cutie was reportedly left feeling insecure after her break-up with older man, Jake, as he gave her ‘a bit of a complex.’
Taylor Swift is more famous for her turbulent love life than she is for her music, so it comes as no shock that she was left with a complex after one relationship, and the man in question is her former flame, Jake Gyllenhaal. Taylor talks about her new album Red, and how one song was influenced by an ex who was “so, so cool.”
With a legion of fans and numerous platinum selling albums, it’s hard to imagine Taylor, 22, as being insecure, but that’s how she felt when she was dating Jake, 31. Her recent single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is about a former lover who was “so so cool,” Taylor tells the The New York Times.
The song talks about a boyfriend who “will hide away and find your piece of mind with some indie record that’s much cooler than mine.” The song is widely believed to be about Jake, and Taylor elaborates on her feelings of insecurity when she was seeing him.
“That all came out of this one relationship I was in. This guy was just, so, so cool. It kind of gave me a bit of a complex for this album, because he was always going on and on about this new band that was so cool because they were so underground.”
It’s a shame that Taylor felt that way, and we are glad to see she is out of that toxic relationship. Since her split from Jake, Taylor has dated two 18-years-olds in a row: Conor Kennedy and Harry Styles. Perhaps she thinks younger guys have less issues. Either way, we hope Taylor’s new flame Harry instills her with nothing but confidence!

Shut up, Taylor. You’re such a brat. Listen to real music. The radio will rot your mind.
