While millions of people will be eating plenty of turkey this Thanksgiving, two lucky birds, Cobbler and Gobbler will not be on your plate thanks to a pardon from President Barack Obama, who pardoned both birds in the annual National Thanksgiving Turkey Presentation at the White House Nov 21! Malia cracked us up, as she was too scared to touch the bird!

President Obama and daughter Sasha were not scared to touch Cobbler, a 19-week-old, 40 pound turkey from Rockingham County, Va., but Malia had reservations and was not impressed — she wouldn’t touch the bird and his new friend Gobbler during the cute display of Thanksgiving tradition!

In a speech leading to both birds getting a presidential pardon, Obama gave the best news ever for a turkey during Thanksgiving when the two were chosen to live their days in retirement away from the fear of dinner plates!

Sasha was eager to give a few pats on the neck to the delight of the media on hand, but the funniest part may have been Malia, who didn’t want anything to do with touching the birds!

Cobbler and Gobbler will be transported to George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate to live forever removed from Thanksgiving plates full of stuffing and cranberry sauce!

So HollywoodLifers, would you have been scared to touch the turkeys like Malia? Sound off below!

WHAT IS THE TURKEY’S OFFENCE?

What’s unpardonable is the wanton breeding and butchery. And not just of turkeys.

Is everyone inured to the irony of calling the annual ritual slaughter of tens of millions of innocent creatures “Thanksgiving”?
