
Jack Taylor, a college basketball player at Grinnell, scored 138 points in one game to shatter the NCAA record in Division III Grinnell’s 179-104 victory over Faith Baptist Bible on Nov. 20 in Grinnell, Iowa.
Jack Taylor, a 5-foot-10, 170 pound sophomore is on his way to the NBA after he made scored 138 points in one college basketball game, shattering the previous NCAA record. “It felt like anything I tossed up was going in,” Taylor said.
Rio Grande’s Bevo Francis held the previous NCAA scoring record with 113 points against Hillsdale in 1954.
Jack recently transferred to Grinnell after a year at Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Jack started off the game on Nov. 20 slow, but quickly got hot in the second half, averaging an astounding four points a minute.
“I don’t think reality has set in yet,” Jack said.
“I never heard of nothing like that. That’s like a video game,” New York Knicks player Carmelo Anthony said after hearing of the news.
