‘American Idol’ is wasting no time in showing the world just how hard core Nicki will be when the show airs this January — Watch the shocking new promo!

Nicki Minaj isn’t holding back. The controversial rapper is one of the new faces on this year’s American Idol judges panel and in this new 30-second promo, you can your first look at just how intense the season will be.

“Honest,” says the video. “[Nicki] is bringing it all … To American Idol. Brace Yourself.” With another video saying: “Others dream. Idol delivers.”

It feels like this could be a jab at the show’s rival, X-Factor. Don’t forget that Simon bailed on Idol and headed over to bring his UK hit show to the US. The second season has been very successful with judges Britney Spears, LA Reid and Demi Lovato.

But let’s be real, the 12th season premieres Jan. 16 and all anyone wants to see is if Nicki and Mariah Carey will battle it out!
