As Serena & Dan’s flirtation heats up, Blair crumbles under her mother’s demands, while Chuck enlists the help of Nate & Ivy to find evidence of Bart’s crimes.
The Nov. 19 episode of Gossip Girl kicked off with Blair (Leighton Meester) in full panic mode as she awaited the arrival of her mother Eleanor (Margaret Colin), who gave her a stiff ultimatum: stop scheming, or be removed from Waldorf Designs. Meanwhile, Chuck (Ed Westwick) continued to search for the mysterious envelope that holds the key to Bart Bass’s shady oil dealings — and you will never guess where he found it!
Read on for four more of this week’s ‘OMG!’ moments:
1. Lily and Rufus’ power struggle:
As Rufus (Matthew Settle) planned his all-important gallery opening, he was shocked to realize no one was coming. Why? Because Lily (Kelly Rutherford) was acting like a typical Upper East Side teenage schemer and conveniently planned a benefit on the same night. (Dun dun dun!) However, Ivy (Kaylee DeFer) isn’t one to sit back now that she’s super rich, so she took matters into her own hands, by buying all the art so Rufus could display his instead. Lily, however, refused to give her up her throne as the snootiest person ever, so she brought in one of her own paintings to sell. She will regret that!
2. Chuck realized where Bart was hiding his secrets:
And it was in the back of a painting — the same painting Lily brought to the auction! Didn’t that already happen in Revenge? Nate (Chace Crawford) made himself slightly less irrelevant by making this discovery, and then Lily, Ivy and Chuck all found themselves in a bidding war. However, only Chuck knew the mysterious envelope was concealed inside it — or so we thought. Ivy and Rufus won the painting, which Ivy agreed to sell to Chuck… at a high price. And he was none-too-happy to learn discover the envelope was gone when he received the painting! What is evil Ivy planning?
3. Serena & Dan kissed:
Is this really an ‘OMG’ moment? Who knows! Either way, Dan (Penn Badgley) and Serena (Blake Lively) finally got hot and heavy this week. After a seriously cheesy game of pool, and a Vespa ride through Central Park, the Upper East Side’s star crossed lovers nearly got derailed by their turbulent history — until they got stuck in an elevator. Again. There, they stared into each other eyes, and a few chocolate-covered strawberries later, they were making their way to Serena’s bedroom. Let’s hope it works out this time!
4. Blair’s game changer:
Blair failed to apologize to her arch nemesis Nelly Yuki, and was removed as President of Waldorf Designs. After a terrible attempt at threatening Dan, Blair finally realized her scheming will forever hold her back (took her long enough) and she resigned from the company. Nelly twisted the knife a little deeper as the rivals sat on the steps of the Met, and Blair realized where she had the most success in life: high school! So, naturally, she decided to design a line of school uniforms with her mother. Will that work out? Who cares! Headbands for everyone!
