Chris surprised everyone on the red carpet when he arrived with his date to the 2012 American Music Awards on Nov. 18! Can you guess who he brought?

Chris Brown looked amazing on the red carpet at the American Music Awards on Nov. 18, but it was his date who certainly stole the show!

Chris, 23, brought his mom Joyce Hawkins as his date! How sweet!

With Rihanna touring overseas, Chris decided to bring the next best person — the woman who gave him life.

Chris will be performing later tonight! We can hardly wait!

Could you please stop tagging Tran’s name in every other article regarding Chris Brown’s scheduled appearances and other private issues. Had Rihanna not been on tour, you would not have mentioned her. It would have been about whether he and Rihanna would walk the red carpet together and profess to the world that they are together. Or would they wear matching outfits? or Would they perform together? but the fact that Rihanna is away on tour….you just had to play devil’s advocate. He is done with Tran. Even if her fantasy loving fans don’t want to believe it.
