‘Breaking Dawn Part 2′ On Track To Earn $135 Million Opening Weekend

‘Breaking Dawn Part 2′ is set to take in $135 million in its opening weekend, according to HollywoodLife.com sister site Deadline.com! Do YOU think it will be the highest grossing installment of ‘The Twilight Saga’ EVER?

Breaking Dawn Part 2 has already smashed international records and will likely come neck and neck with totals earned by Breaking Dawn Part 1!

The worldwide total for Breaking Dawn Part 2 is already at $174 million, according to Deadline.com. It could go through $275 by Sunday, Nov. 18!

In the United States alone, Breaking Dawn Part 2 earned $72.1 million on Friday Nov. 16, and will likely earn $135 million during opening weekend! However, the last film in The Twilight Saga may or may not pass Breaking Dawn Part 1′s take of $138.1 million in 2011.

Either way, we certainly believe that BD2 will be a huge success in North America this weekend! The reviews are calling it a “gleefully over-the-top conclusion!”

I saw the movie! IT IS THE BEST! i cried, i laughed, almost screamed and got heart attack, but i absolutely loved it. Gonna do it one more time and than again and again :-)

Saw the movie yesterday and thought it was the best of the lot. The ending made everyone in the theater gasp, one after another horror. We all were crying with the battle. Loved the ending so much, I have to see it again..

Who cares about how much money it made,,,,,,Harry potter and twilight both great books and series. Hey I am a grandmother in love with both of them and have seen all the movies many times, just got back from breaking dawn for the second time and will see it a few more times. Don’t care about money, only my old lady crush on rob pattinson lol

You make comments about the spelling and grammar of the HP posters……If you bother to look at the Twihard posts, most of them are unreadable due to no punctuation, dire kindergarten spelling and lack of argument, just look at the posts Catarina and DIEHARD TWIHARD FAN!!!!! have written, just two posters who write typical Twihard drivel ‘Twilight is the best, go away, you know nothing’. Oh c’mon, what international recorded has it beat? None. Harry Potter beats twatlight hands down, at the box office, book sells and any other list you want to put forward. It’s only when they write stories with ‘record breaking’ in the headlines that’s you read the story and think, ‘oh ok so it never actually beat any records’ and then you read the posts from the twatlight obsessed fans, like on here, you realise why the franchise is so rubbish! They can palm any old crap on them and they love it and will go back time after time to get their fix as their lives are so sad, they need a distraction. I really look forward to the twatlight comments on here, I love it when the sad children get upset and vent their anger to anyone who DARE say anything negative about their life heroes while they tell others how sad they are as they are all ‘haters’ or how they have no life while they tell everyone to shut the f**k up as we know NOTHING. Wahahahahaha.

@ maria you surely can see this is more a kids/teenager movie, I thought it was good but i still prefer Harry Potter. Besides not all need to like the same movie we all have different tastes.

@April Um i’m pretty sure wikipedia has the gross in dollars.

And even if it is 2.5 billion in pounds for Twilight then it is also 7.7 billion in pounds for HP since the information comes from the same source!

i do not understand, twilight is supposed to be selling itself ,why the call and pr.,i hope i will be satisfied when i eventually watch it because ,do to the cheating thing ,i lost my taste of it but ,still like the book any way.

@ maria Did everyone forget today most movie sell are boosted by 3-D sells? Harry Potter was shown in 3-D which also help expand sells. Twilight and Harry Potter just aren’t my thing. I hate anything fantasy wise.I’m glad they both are over, but I won’t go ruin it for the fans because they love the movies and books. Who gives anyone the right to steal someone else’s joy? It seems the harry Potter fans are bigger bullies to Twilight fans because harry potter has grossed more. Twilight besides the bad acting and story has an all chick audience which doesn’t pull in as much as cast for both male and female audiences like Harry Potter and the hunger Games. Also Twilight as I said before isn’t inflated with 3-D sales.

I like Twilight but if you loof at Harry Potter’s 3D market share it had the worst 3D sales!So the fact that Potter made that much money is more to its fanbase than the 3D boost.

The fact that the last HP is still the champion when counting the actual tickets sold says it all!

Well I guess most die hard twilight fans will scream about 3d but what they dont know is deathly hallows 2 3D tickets sales was very poor. according to box office mojo the majority of people saw deathly hallows 2 in 2d.

am guesing DH 2 without 3d will have grossed about 80 million in comaprsion to BD 2 which grossed 71 million

For the last movie the opening weekend should exceed New Moon’s $142 million, especially since they had 10 pm showings. Nice try at spinning this Hollywoodlife. If it doesn’t make $135 million as projected, but LESS, fingers will be pointing at Kristen’s “momentary indiscretion” as a factor.

No,Hollywoodlife.Only the reviews that you posted have something good to say about this horrible film.

On Rotten tomatoes the film is certified Rotten with 51% of the critics giving it a bad review and has a 5.2 rating…that’s faaaaaaaaaaar away to even consider this film “mixed”

Once again Twilight has a rotten entry.I think it’s the only frnchise that every movie in it was critically panned!

You’re entitles to your opinion but generally Twilight was never close to HP!

For the world of moviegoers HP is a part of the Elite club joining the ranks of franchise such as Lord Of the Rings.Star Wars,Pirates od the Carribean,James Bond,Spider Man andThe Dark Knight.

Twilight is probably the most hated franchise in the motion picture history and will never be consider as a huge success or critically acclaimed as the mentioned franchises above !

Hp is way bigger having earned 7.7 billion dollar worldwide vs 2.5 billionsearned by the twilight saga!

And don’t start saying “Hp had more movies” because if you look at the average Hp has and outstanding average og 965 million dollars vs.627 million for twilight.

And if you consider that most of the HP movies are not adjusted for inflation and don;t have the bigger ticket prices as the all of the twilight films then the gap between the two is even bigger.

Even The Hunger Games is considered better and mot successful than twilight!At least THG is a decent franchise!

And lets not forget the critical reception, All HP films are all certified fresh on rotten tomatoes. HP is 2nd most critically acclaimed fantasy franchises of all time. It proudly sits below lord of the rings and is higher than star wars

Lord of the Rings (3 films) 94% fresh

Harry Potter (8 films) 85% fresh

Star Wars (6 films) 71% fresh

Face it twihads…twilight is inferior to this other franchise. I mean every Twilight film is a rotten.

OMG!!! I watched this and there was a moment when the whole audience gasped and went silent. I didn’t I was shrieking and crying. The end is amazing and I’m not going to spoil it for anyone who has not seen the movie yet but let me tell you this: it is absolutely amazing so DO NOT MISS OUT!!!!!!!!!

I have indeed seen this movie, and i know what bit you are on about, i about it due to Ashley Greene saying about it in January. But, it stil shocked me. I cried so much at the end, the last thing that is on screen, you should know what i mean

I think we can tell that Oscar season is heating up; I’m expecting Twilight:Breaking Dawn to be a heavy favorite to sweep all the main categories this year, and probably also win the Palm d’Or, Venice, etc. Truly AMAZING performances from Taylor Lautner (the way he takes his shirt off is very complex) and the incredible emotional depth of Kristen Stewart is simply BREATHTAKING

Not even close to the records set be HP 7.2 1+ year ago!

Hp made 169.8 Million on its opening weekend domestically,92.1 Million on its opening day(the record) and 490 M worldwide on its firs 3 days of release.

Twilight was never close beating Harry Potter…that was crap made up bu the twi-crap fans!
