
James has been hospitalized after several ‘half-hearted’ attempts at committing suicide. Read on for all the details.
James Holmes, who killed 12 people and injured 58 more during his July 20 shooting rampage in a movie theater, has reportedly tried to kill himself on multiple occasions.
James was rushed to the hospital, but has since been released.
James Holmes’ Suicide Attempt
The shooter allegedly ran full-speed headfirst into his jail cell wall on Tuesday Nov. 13. While he injured himself, his condition was not life-threatening, according to TMZ.
Furthermore, James reportedly stood on his bed and fell backwards in an attempt to crack his skull open. He failed with this attempt, as well.

He suffers from mental illness and often times if you listen to a mentally ill person talk to you they say they feel possessed and can’t control what they are doing when they hear “the voices.” Superstition and judgement aside, there is a reason why they are ill. Its a genetic disorder that causes the brain to not function normally. So, it makes sense that as this man is no medication in jail, he’s coming to his senses with some lucidity and realizing what he has done and is trying to end it all, because he does feel remorse when lucid.
