So sad. In a tragic murder-suicide, a grandma and her adult son took the lives of her three innocent grandkids over a bitter custody battle with the kids’ biological parents.
Tragedy struck an Ohio family on Nov. 12 when Sandy Ford, 54, allegedly conspired with her adult son Andy Ford, 32, to kill themselves and her three grandkids — his nieces and nephew — over a bitter custody dispute. All five were found dead inside the family garage.
Authorities believe that Sandy, who was about to lose custody of her three grandkids Paige Hayes, 10, Logan Hayes, 6, and Madalyn Hayes, 5, hooked up hoses from a family truck to a Honda Civic in the family’s garage.
Firefighters had to use a sledgehammer to break through the garage, which had been barricaded shut.
They found all five dead inside the car, as well as the family’s two dogs and cat.
Sandy husband, Randy, called police on Nov. 12 to report suspicious notes he found inside the house from his family members after he came home. He said he couldn’t enter the garage.
According to Toledo Police Sergeant Joe Heffernan, Sandy had been taking care of the children for the last four years, but the kids’ parents, Mandy Hayes (the Fords’ daughter) and Chris Hayes were trying to get full custody.
He believes that was the motive for the murder-suicide.
Such a tragedy. Our thoughts are with their family during this difficult time.

I think they brought the pets into the vehicle for the children, children are much more comfortable with the love of their faithful canines and felines. Such a tragic situation, it makes me wonder how bad the biological parents are, for the children’s grandmother and uncle to commit suicide with the children…. RIP, may God bless and keep you always xx
