It’s been long rumored, but sadly, now it’s official — Justin and Selena have called it quits. HollywoodLife.com has exclusive details on why Jelena have ended their relationship. Read on to find out why.

It was rumored that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez‘s relationship was on the rocks, teetering towards a split. On Friday, Nov. 9, we’ve learned that Justin and Selena are officially over — she broke up with him! So sad.

The split, initially reported by E! News, is said to have happened about a week ago. A source tells E!, “Because of their crazy schedules, it was getting harder and harder to maintain a relationship.”

Moments after the news broke, Selena tweeted, “That’s a wrap..” Was she talking about her relationship with Justin?

Why Did Justin and Selena Break Up?

HollywoodLife.com spoke with a source close to the relationship, as well, and after they confirmed the news, we learned that Justin and Selena’s break-up goes beyond conflicting schedules. “She is way too mature for him,” our insider tells us. “He wants to have fun and be young and wants her around all the time and she wants to be like his mom and not go out and wants to actually settle with someone and she is boring!”

After Justin posted, and quickly deleted an Instagram photo on Oct. 29 with the caption “Lingse” (an anagram for the word single), we suspected that the couple had split — especially after hearing about his behavior at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show on Nov. 7, both backstage and at the after party at Lavo in NYC. It was reported that he was flirting with models and trying to get phone numbers. Then, on Nov. 8, he was photographed attending a Broadway performance of The Lion King with VS model, Barbara Palvin. As Hollywoodlife.com editor-in-chief Bonnie Fuller wrote, he wasn’t exactly acting like a guy with a girlfriend.

Since then, many of Selena’s Wizards of Waverly Place co-stars have been dissing the Biebs on Twitter!

More Behind Justin and Selena’s Breakup

According to a new report in Us Weekly, Justin and Selena broke up on Halloween. If you remember, we showed you that Selena spent the spooky holiday alone with friends. Justin had the night off (he had no concert planned for that date), and he didn’t even make plans to spend the holiday with Selena! Perhaps that was the last straw that broke their relationship.

Also, Justin was spotted alone in Selena’s hometown, Dallas, Texas, on Oct. 30, dining at Hooters — their favorite restaurant! (Selena loves the fried pickles!) But Selena was nowhere to be found.

While news of their split is devastating, Us Weekly goes on to say that there is hope for a reconciliation.

“They are [young] . . . it changes from day to day. Right now it is a break and tomorrow it could be back on knowing them . . . it’s hard to say how they will end up,” the source says. “Maybe she feels more serious about it this time. We’ll see.”
