Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are back together and seemingly stronger than ever, but there still some cynics who believe that the romance is a marketing ploy for the impending release of Breaking Dawn Part 2. In a new interview with The Washington Post, Rob set the record straight!
Rob, 26, was asked by the publication what his response was to critics who believed that his romantic relationship with Kristen, 22, was being used to market the Twilight films. His response:
“[Pauses, then laughs] For one thing, it would be a terrible marketing tool, and it’s not utilized very well at all. People will say anything. I’m still amazed that people even believe anything [that’s said about us]. I mean, it’s one of the craziest things about the whole situation, where you can see the whole — is paradigm the right word? — of celebrity gossip, celebrity culture type stuff that’s literally entirely made up. There’s a story line. You have a set character and your story line is written for you. And it doesn’t matter what you do. I talked to Reese Witherspoon about it a while ago, and she was the person who really told me, you get given a character. I mean, I’ve literally tried to do things to throw people off, and it just doesn’t get printed.”

I’m sure there are a few good reasons for Robert to give Kris another chance. Rob would NOT be a WIMP for taking her back. They BOTH obviously love each other despite what happened – as MOST PEOPLE DO. Throwing that kind of a connection out the window with someone who has been HOUNDED for BEING YOUR GIRLFRIEND for YEARS is smart FOR NOW (especially with BDp2 around the corner). Why did Kristen stray? Off the TOP of my head I can think of a few reasons in this scenario: pressure, stress, NEVER being able to let your guard down!!
Some Twihards are still pretty crazy inside – either seething in anger with Kristen, AND NOW Robert too since they are rumored to have reconciled – or relieved because of it (lets hope it holds or MORE tears). WHY?! TIME to put blame where it belongs – OUR OWN OBSESSIONS caused by Stephenie Meyer’s BOOK PUBLISHER’s professional negligence in publishing Twilight with SUCH an irresponsible, overly-addictive and PREVENTABLE “writing style”.
