When Chris Brown officially launched his Symphonic Love Foundation, Nov. 5, he opened his heart like never before to explain why creating the foundation to support children and teens was so necessary for him.
“Art was my only outlet aside from music, it is the thing that I like to use as an escape,” says Chris Brown, introducing an emotionally moving video he created for the official launch of his Symphonic Love Foundation in LA.
“Art is a part of my life and it influences me completely,” Chris says.
That’s why Chris has funded six charitable programs through his foundation, primarily for young people, and has focused on art, dance and domestic and dating violence education.
Chris is funding five scholarships a year to send underprivileged young people to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy and is deeply involved in the Jenesse Center in LA, which provides “safe” housing to women with their children, who are victims of dometic violence.
“Chris and his mother Joyce Hawkins have been visiting the center for three and a half years, supporting programs which help young people break the cycle of domestic violence,” explains a source close to Chris exclusively to HollywoodLife.com.
Chris Talks About What He’s Learned
“For Chris, it’s about learning from his own experience. He talks all the time about learning from his mistakes — how to be a better man,” explains the source.
Chris’s Symphonic Love video explains the missions of Symphonic Love — to “promote the values of public service, kindness and respect for yourself and others” and to “encourage all forms of artistic expression to help youth realize their unique and creative selves.”
“Promote Positivity” is a phrase used repeatedly throughout his video, and according to the source who knows Chris well, it’s a reflection of “his spirit.”
“Chris is a really good guy, very generous and it’s real. He can’t be fake or anybody but himself,” explains the source, to HollywoodLife.com.
Symphonic Love had launch-day activities planned in 18 cities around the world. Good for you, Chris!
Chris’s Video is a Must-Watch
Now watch his emotional and toe-tapping video, and also if you’re a fan, you can support the cause by using his “Giving Assistant” browser app that donates a portion of every purchase fans make with online partners, and it doesn’t cost you as a fan a penny.
