'Breaking Dawn: Part 2' Premiere -- Our Guide To Camping Out

The time has finally come for all Twilight fans to come together and cheer for their favorite vampire or werewolf one last time! The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere is upon us, on Nov. 12! Since 2008, fans from all over the world have slept over night after night in Los Angeles to catch a glimpse of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and the rest of the cast on the red carpet. This year marks the last premiere for the Twilight Saga and HollywoodLifer Shawn Evans tells you the must do’s for camping out for the big premiere!

What a bittersweet moment this will be for fans and for the actors themselves. I have had the pleasure of camping out for the premieres of New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn: Part One over the years, and I am lucky to have met so many people along this journey! Since I’ve camped out on the streets with most of my fellow Twi-Fans, I have decided to make a camping list to help all the new campers and refresh all you return campers to have the best time possible!

Tips For A Good Night’s Sleep

So lets get started! Camping out in the past, I have remembered how hard the concrete can be sleeping on it and how COLD it can get here in LA at night time. I strongly advise sleeping bags for a nice little bed and lots of blankets to cover up. I often bring at least seven. Also, don’t forget your pillow! I highly recommend to bring or buy a sleeping mask and ear plugs for when it’s time to go to bed. I can’t even count the random people who like to yell and wake everyone up for no reason in the middle of the night and take note — the morning traffic sounds are terrible, especially if any alarms go off.

What To Wear

Now on to packing! It’s been unusually hot for fall and the weather has been a bit unpredictable, so here’s your best bet on what to pack: Three pairs of shorts or skirts! (You can mix and match on the four days you’ll be there!) Two pairs of jeans, nice ones to dress up and casual ones you can wear during the day if it gets cold. Three nice tops you want to wear during the day or at night for dinner with fellow Twi-Hards. (I say nice because there will be TV cameras every where wanting interviews!)

A jacket and scarf to cover up at night when cold and pjs to lounge around late at night. I advise everyone to dress up this year for the premiere! It’s the last one, so why not? A dress and heels or a skirt and top are great options instead of the usual Twilight shirt and jeans everyone wears every year! Let’s make it special!

Odds & Ends To Ensure A Good Time

- A chair, like the ones that fold up and come in bags. There will be a lot of waiting around, so why not be happy sitting in a chair on the ground!

- A few books or magazines to read or have the Twilight stars sign!

- Silver sharpies! They are great to have handy when some of the stars pop up for a surprise visit, as they look the best on all your memorabilia!

- Your camera! Its pretty obvious why — just DON’T forget your chargers!

- Last but not least, if you can swing it, then bring your laptop! All that waiting around and Starbucks runs at night will go by faster if you stay connected to everything around you. Life saver!

Don’t Fret If You Forget

And while you are downtown, if you forget anything you’ll still be fine as there are lots of stores around L.A Live including a new Target that just opened up around the corner. If you need to pick up anything you forget at home, or you just need that one extra thing to make those posters for the premiere, you can make a quick trip!
