The troubled ‘Teen Mom 2′ star admits she needed a legal intervention to get her life back on track — and her run-in with the law over her probation violation was exactly what helped her get clean and sober.
The trailer for season 3 shows Jenelle violating her probation after failing a drug test — and facing jail time.
Her excessive partying and drug use over the past couple of years led to her not only losing custody of her son Jace, but also under watchful eyes of authorities after being put on probation.
“I needed to be controlled and put to a stop for me to see what was going on in my life,” Jenelle told Wetpaint.com in an interview. “I needed someone to stop me in my tracks, and that’s what my probation officer did. She was a blessing in disguise.”
Her violent and aggressive outbursts with her ex-boyfriend Kieffer Delp and her mom Barbara Evans have also played out on screen, and Jenelle said looking back on past seasons made her realize her destructive behavior.
“Some of the stuff I see myself doing on TV, I scare myself. Because I’m like, why would I do that? Why would I say something like that?” she said. “And now I’m not as impulsive as I was before. Now I don’t need someone there telling me what’s right and wrong.”
Jenelle said now she’s clean and sober, and getting her life back on track.
