Days after wearing an offensive Halloween costume, Chris reveals he wants to be ‘better as a person.’ Is this all part of his plan to win back Rihanna?
Chris Brown has had a busy week. Not only did he stir up controversy on Halloween by dressing up as a terrorist Oct. 31, but the following day, he made an appearance in an LA court for a progress report on his domestic violence offense. It’s no wonder Chris tells MTV he wants to “try to be better as a person.”
Over the years, 23-year-old Chris has been no stranger to controversy, so it’s refreshing to hear that he wishes to turn over a new leaf. On MTV’s This Is How I Made It, Chris opens up about his past:
“Having to get personal opinion back and having to gain personal success back … it’s not all the way back, you know?” he says. “But it’s one of my most humbling experiences. … I can’t hate people for making judgment on me or making a decision of liking me or not liking me. All I can do is try to be better as a person, and I’m good with knowing everything isn’t always going to be perfect.”
Wow, so refreshing and honest! Chris also thanks his fans for his success, as he is well aware that he would be nowhere without them.
“The fan base that I have and the actual support is unreal to me,” Chris adds. “They’ve put me in a position to be able to help people and continue to do music and help my family, help my mom. I just want my fans to be able to identify, whether it be the ones that maybe could of had everything or they maybe blew their chance and they failed and didn’t know how to get back up.”
Chris also referred to his ultimate downfall — when he attacked his then girlfriend Rihanna in Feb. 2009. The couple have since rekindled their flame, and Chris is so thankful that he was able to bounce back from his disgrace.
“My story or my life or my legacy can hopefully show them that once you’re down, that don’t just mean you’re down forever,” he says. “You never let up. A lot of the negatives that we always go through, we’re gonna have to get through that. It sounds crazy, but that’s what makes us who we are.”
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Do you believe Chris can change?
The show will air on MTV on Nov. 3 at 12pm.
