Kristen — you have one amazing boyfriend in Rob! He was clearly doing the heavy lifting in your joint interview with Josh Horowitz on MTV News on Nov. 1. Here’s how he lovingly protected you!

Kristen Stewart — it’s always been obvious that interviews make you nervous, and it’s understandable that your first joint TV appearance with Robert Pattinson since your shocking affair might be a heart-pounding moment. But while you bravely sat between Rob and best friend Taylor Lautner and you looked gorgeous, you also betrayed your nerves. Your foot kept swinging and your shoulders moved up and down quickly throughout the questions.

Rob had to know how nervous you were going into the interview, and like the thoughtful boyfriend he is, he stepped right up, answering questions quickly and laughing. Rob — I have to say, you are one really funny and self-deprecating guy, and your ability to be an extrovert is a perfect match to Kristen’s natural tendency to be introverted.

HOW HE PROTECTED HER

When Josh Horowitz asked “Did any of you cry on the last day of taping?,” Rob, you jumped right in and responded, “Yeah, more towards the beginning.” When he queried, “Who is most likely to be in Star Wars — Episode 7?,” Rob nominated himself. He admitted that for Halloween he wore a $3 mask from 7-11, which is sooo down-to-earth Rob. And when Josh asked, “How would you describe the sex scene in Breaking Dawn 2“, Rob gallantly swooped in and answered a question that might have felt so awkward to Kristen.

“You know, I haven’t seen it so I don’t know… I imagine it’s quite like the scene where she’s doing the pottery ghost [from the classic film Ghost],” he laughed.

Finally, Rob made you, Kristen, look good when he made it clear that you helped him land the role of Edward in Twilight. “Yeah, I take credit for both these guys,” she said, referring to both Rob and Taylor.  Rob added this hilarious story: ”  was extremely nervous, I was , like crippled with self-consciousness. You had to take your shirt off in this audition and all these other guys just stood there with their shirts off…. so there was a lot of crying in shame,” he laughed again.

All in all, Rob’s willingness to take the spotlight in the interview, keep the atmosphere funny and light — and also his compliments for Kristen –demonstrated how he proactively took the weight of the interview on his shoulders so Kristen could feel safe and protected.
