After months of speculation about the state of Rob and Kristen’s relationship after she cheated, the young couple have given their first joint interview. They revealed all the details of their Halloween date, and Kristen says that she thinks Rob is ‘perfect.’
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson sat down with Josh Horowitz for an exclusive MTV First interview on Nov. 1, to promote Breaking Dawn: Part 2 and they flirted the entire way through! They talked about their crazy Halloween date, and how Kristen fought for Rob to get the part of Edward.
Rob, 26 and Kristen, 22, were joined by their co-star Taylor Lautner and the author of the Twilight saga Stephenie Meyer, for this interview. As previously reported by Hollywoodlife.com, Rob and Kristen were not nervous about attending this interview, as they feel comfortable with Josh.
The couple talked about the new movie, but things got really interesting when they talked about the Oct. 31 date they had at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Rob and Kristen acted very cute and flirty as they talked about their date, and Kristen said that her pink wig and sunglasses costume was inspired by Natalie Portman‘s character in the film Closer.
As for Rob’s costume? “It was a $3 mask from 7/11. I played someone who was generally terrifying!” he said. When Josh first mentioned the date, Kristen, who was clearly not expecting the question, joked with him and said “I love you — you’re my favorite.”
Interestingly, Kristen also revealed that she was “gunning” for Rob to get the part of Edward Cullen, back when he was first auditioning for Twilight. She noted that she and Stephenie Meyer “were really gunning for him.” And, touchingly, she said “he was perfect.”
She and Rob are clearly smitten with each other, as Kristen said that it was because of him that she has such a great career! “I take credit for both these guys,” she said of Rob and Taylor, while Rob responded “I take credit for Kristen’s (career).” So sweet!
The couple are obviously very proud of each other’s success, and they seem more smitten with each other than ever since reuniting.

It is extremely well known that SM did not want Rob to be cast as Edward…he was not what she had in mind when writing the character. Actually SM contacted her attorneys to see if she could put a hold on the casting of Edward…but Summit is not stupid, their agreements are forged in fire and SM could do nothing but sit back and watch her characters take shape the way Summit wanted. She was very pleased with Kristen Stewart though. She felt she was exactly the look of “her” Bella.
