Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong entered rehab after a startling breakdown at the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Sept. 21, during which he bashed Justin Bieber. The band canceled tour dates to support their new album Uno!, and they’ve just announced that they’ll be taking the rest of the year off.
The band announced that they would be canceling the remainder of their 2012 tour dates and postponing appearances scheduled for January and February of 2013. Obviously, the timing for this isn’t ideal, but Billie Joe’s well-being is our main concern,” bassist Mike Dirnt said in a statement. “We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can’t wait to see you all again soon.”
