‘Vampire Diaries’ Breakup: Which Couple Is Calling It Quits In Season 4?

Stefan & Elena? Caroline & Tyler? Bonnie & Jamie? One of these pairs is in peril!

Breaking up is hard to do, especially in Mystic Falls, but some things just can’t be avoided. According to Zap2it, “one couple will be seriously on the outs” before The Vampire Diaries takes a mini break for Thanksgiving — but who will it be?

Let’s break down the possibilities:

STEFAN & ELENA: If Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) do end up calling it quits, it wouldn’t be the first time — and it probably won’t be the last. They argued about Elena drinking Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) blood on last week’s episode, and if there are more fights in their future, it might be time to take another break.

TYLER & CAROLINE: Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) may be enjoying their “hot hybrid sex” at the moment, but don’t forget, a ghost — not literally — from Tyler’s past is about to enture the picture. Depending on what Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) has up her sleeve, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Caroline and Tyler’s relationship take a hit.

BONNIE & JAMIE: My money’s on this one. Not only did Bonnie (Kat Graham) mention on last week’s episode that she hasn’t had time for Jamie (Robert Ri’chard) in a while, but real talk: wasn’t Jamie just a temporarily replacement for Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) while he was out of town, anyway? Jeremy’s back now, so all can return to the way it was.

tbh i think that klaus should be with caroline, hayley + tyler, stefen + elena, bonnie + jeremy, damon + meredith but we cant get what we wont… i love vampire diaries but some people take it too seriously

@FED UP Honestly what u r saying is very disrespectful n insulting not just of the actors but also the show. The writers have written Damon’s character in such a way that more fans root for him. Its not just hot, shirtless scenes, its his devotion, his pain, his gratitude towards life, the way he loves, his sacrifises in the name of love n family. Ian does a remarkable job to give life to his character. FYI, when the actors were being cast Paul auditioned for Damon but as soon as the producers met Ian, they knew he was the right person. Its so funny how u SE fans throw a fit everytime ur precious Stefan isn’t under the spotlight.
Coming back to the real topic, I m pretty sure SE will break up because they r just not themselves around each other anymore. This ‘never resolving their issues’ attitude has made them into a complete joke. Rather than face problems, they just resist them, this might have worked for them before but now its just going around in circles n isn’t leading them anywhere n Stefan is just projecting his own weaknesses on Elena, which is very hypocritical of him. And Elena is imagining Damon while being with Stefan, i mean seriously? Damon was right when he said Elena has more common with him than Stefan. DELENA FOREVER

Omg please please let it be Stephan and elena. Omg I hate Stephan and elena together they are so boring and u can tell that elena being a vampire is drawing them further and further apart. I am so tired of Stephan and Elena. Julie plec said that who decides who Elena ends up with is up to the fans well all poles say fans voted for Damon more. Elena is damons love of his life and Damon and Elena are a much hotter exciting couple. And way more sexier

It will be stelena—>Elena makes a painful personal confession to Stefan—->exoun pei: At least one breakup. Before the show goes on its brief Thanksgiving hiatus, one couple will be seriously on the outs. All good things must come to an end, right?

I think it will be Forwood. But i would love for it to be Stelena. I hate them with a passion, they are sooo annoying. They never face their problems. They just hide them, lie and not speak of them. Elena is always apologizing and begging for approval from the god that is Stefan. And the fans call that true love. What a joke. If she is an example of a strong female of the 21st century, I am ashamed. I hope she is written this way as a point later on, but I doubt it.

Well Fed Up, I think you’re wrong. Damon has been getting the shaft for the past three years. He is due to be in the spot light. It’s about time. The problem with the show is that there are way too many characters and the writers are trying to fit them all in every week with some sort of dialog and that is a mistake. The show started out about the two brothers and Catherine/Elena and they just added too many people in the spot light. They should not have brought in the Vampire Hunter so quickly. Let him start killing off people without introducing him as part of the cast so soon. Then introduce him the last two shows of the season. Right now it’s another character for the writers and it takes time away from Stefan and Damon. Oh well, we just watch the shows. We don’t produce them or write for them.

Well since the writers have destroyed the character of Stefan and made Damon there “golden man” with the best writing and everyone else gets blah writing. Jeremy has said maybe 2 sentences, Caroline is always naked, this show is going down. It will be Stefan and Elena that break up. Then the Damon show will go will continue. That’s when the show will officially “jump the shark”

writing alone does not make a character, its what the actor brings to that character, and that is where Ian comes in, its his brilliant acting and portrayal of Damon that makes damon what he is.Ian has so much range, he can convey so much emotions with just a look from his eyes. he also has so many facial expressions.He makes you laugh,hate, sad cry and so on,

Seriously? Everyone knows that Ian is gorgeous, not that great at acting but still watchable because he looks hot. Almost every comment you ever read about the dude it’s always, hot, sexy, more shirtless scenes it has NEVER been wow Ian is such a great actor that scene was emmy or oscar winning. Lol

I think it’s Caroline and Tyler, for the reason you mentioned (Hayley) and if they’re eventually going to give Caroline/Klaus or Caroline/Stefan a shot, then she needs to break up with Tyler. They’re sweet, but there’s nowhere else left for them to go as a couple right now.

God! Tyler and Caroline are the most almost passible as a stable normal relationship Cople! Stefan needs to go! Damon idle a great actor and as rose said challenges elana to question… she would never ask Damon for forgiveness she would tell him to get over it she can be herself with Damon not this Stefan is God crape!

It’s not Forwood, love them together by the way. They are strong right now and TV Guide reported that Hayley won’t come b/w them. I’m not saying Forwood won’t have problems this season, but I don’t think it will be by Thanksgiving break. And let’s face it, hardly anyone cares about Bamie. I say definitely Stelena, and about time. Stefan doesn’t even understand Elena, while Damon does, and he’s trying to force his ripper precaution rules on her. He didn’t listen to her try to tell him something was wrong, and he didn’t notice and he should have, it was obvious. Elena needs to learn control and Stefan just can’t deal with what Elena is going through, he has his own self loathing issues that always come between him and Elena. Time to face those facts.

You are right Ashley, Stefan really doesn’t listen to Elena or Damon. Elena tried to tell him about the blood, but he didn’t want to hear it. And Damon said, “let her be a vampire, then we can control her urges” (maybe not in those exact words).He’s right. Elena has to be what she is and learn to control herself. Damon was right when he told Alaric that he was taking care of a bunch of kids. Stefan and Elena need to grow up.
