The rumors are true, Pretty Little Liars fans: one very unlucky Rosewood resident meets his (or her) untimely end on the show’s Oct. 23 Halloween special. And while I’m not allowed to reveal the identity of the corpse, the stars were more than happy to spill some details when HollywoodLife.com caught up with them at the episode’s Los Angeles premiere last week.
“I didn’t even know anybody was dying!” Brant Daugherty (Noel) admitted. “We got to the table read, and I’m flipping through the script looking for my part, and all of a sudden I see stuff about dying. It was a shocker; they threw everyone for a loop.”
And Brant didn’t exactly confirm that Noel will survive the near-death experience we saw in a preview clip.
“Get down on your knees and pray for me, please,” he joked. “I want to make it out of this train alive.”
Tyler Blackburn (Caleb) echoed Brant’s thoughts, adding that “everybody was shocked. … It could literally have been anybody.”
“You’re surprised every time a character dies,” Lindsey Shaw explained. “Then you think, ‘OK, what will this [character dying] do to everything else?’ It’s like a rite of passage for this show to be killed off … but I want to stay on it.”
Of course, there is some hope for the dearly departed: “In Rosewood, no one ever goes away,” Janel Parrish reminded us. ”There are always flashbacks!”
But I think Tammin Sursok (Jenna) summed up everyone’s thoughts, stars and fans alike, when she said, “It’s tough to see anyone go. It’s intense.”
