The leader of the free world and the king of hip-hop have become good friends over the last few years, and the president even gave Jay-Z advice on being a father!
Jay-Z became a dad for the first time on January 7 when he welcomed daughter Blue Ivy Carter with wife Beyonce, but it’s none other than President Barack Obama, father to Sasha, 11, and Malia, 14, who gave the hip hop superstar some family advice.
“I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyonce out [with the baby], and not leaving it all with Beyonce and the mother-in-law,” he told host Colby Colb on Oct. 19 during a radio show for Cleveland radio station Z107.9.
But the president says his advice to the 99 Problems rapper is just friend-to-friend.
“I’ve gotten to know these guys over the first several years,” he said. “They’re good people. We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends.”
And new mom Beyonce and First Lady Michelle Obama are just as close.
Jay-Z held a private fundraiser for the president on Sept. 18, and has been active in his re-election campaign.
