For the second week in a row, Elena ignored Damon’s suggestions and ended up getting hurt. Maybe it’s time for her to start listening!
I’ve noticed a disturbing trend while watching the first two episode of The Vampire Diaries this season: No one in Mystic Falls is listening to reason. Well, more specifically, no one is listening to Damon (Ian Somerhalder), who has become the town’s sole voice of reason in the wake of Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) transformation. While I won’t deny that Stefan (Paul Wesley) loves Elena, his advice has consistently led her astray.
Point #1: ‘We all know the drill. You feed or you die.’
The characters’ aversion to logic began the minute Elena first woke up on the premiere. Noble as ever, Stefan promised her they’d exhaust every possible option to keep her from transitioning. Damon, meanwhile, knew that was an empty promise and didn’t want to get Elena’s hopes up. “You feed or you die” may have sounded harsh at the time, but given Elena’s dire predicament, I believe a little tough love was in order. Had she fed right away, Elena wouldn’t have had to suffer the way she did. Oh, and Bonnie (Kat Graham) wouldn’t have had to use black magic, which means Grams’ sprit might still be with us. Just sayin’.
Point #2: ‘You’re a vampire, Elena. Be a vampire.’
The denial continued on the Oct. 18 episode, as Stefan insisted that Elena should be raised on his bunny diet — you know, the one that only he has been able to master thus far. Despite Damon explaining that keeping Elena from human blood would prove detrimental to her development, he allowed Stefan to foolishly lead her into the woods for a hunt.
“Trust me, you’re going to be miserable,” Damon told Elena. And the look she gave him as she walked out of the room implied she agreed with him, but like everyone else on the show, didn’t want to admit he was right. Which he was.
This all relates back to the point I brought up after last week’s episode: One of the fundamental reasons Elena seems to prefer Stefan over Damon is because Stefan is totally whipped. He always agrees with Elena, and he always does what she tells him to do, even if it means putting her at risk. On both episodes of season four, Stefan has worked tirelessly to keep Elena from giving into her vampiric urges — yet the solution to all of her problems has been to drink human blood, whether it was from Matt (Zach Roerig) or that council guard.
In short: If Elena wants to avoid further harm to herself and others, she needs to start listening to Damon. I understand he’s been branded a loose cannon — and deservedly so — but he’s also one of the few characters who’s able to put logic ahead of his emotions.
And when it comes to staying alive in Mystic Falls, we all know emotions are the real enemy.

I think Elena will come to terms with how she feels for Damon after Episode 4. I think she will go behind Stefans back again and do something he doesnt want her to do. That will cauze a wedge. And I honestly think it will be Elena choosing to drink from Damon again..and they will have this real intensified moment with eachother. Damon may even drink from her. I dont think they will have sex yet. I think that will come later. But knowing how Stefan feels about her drinking on him will not overpass the way she feels for Damon in this episode.Come episode 7 we will see Elena getting taken to the Miss Mystic Falls pageant by Matt but by the end of the episode we should see someone else waiting for her…..DAMON. Which probably means Stefan and Elena will break up within the next few episodes. Julie Plec interviewed recently and said that we need to look how the “seeds have been sowed” basically when it comes to the triangle and everyone even Stelens fans can see that it’s stitching towards a Delena season. Im excited!!!!!
