Lance has hit rock bottom now that he was just dropped from Nike and resigned from his foundation. Do you feel sorry for him?

Things just got worse for Lance Armstrong. Lance announced on Oct. 17 that he has just stepped down as chairman for his Livestrong Foundation and then Nike said they were dropping him after 16 years of working together.

“This organization, its mission and its supporters are incredibly dear to my heart,” Lance said in a statement. “Today therefore, to spare the foundation any negative effects as a result of controversy surrounding my cycling career, I will conclude my chairmanship. As my cancer treatment was drawing to an end, I created a foundation to serve people affected by cancer. It has been a great privilege to help grow it from a dream into an organization that today has served 2.5 million people and helped spur a cultural shift in how the world views cancer survivors.”

Nike, also said they would no longer be working with him.

“Due to the seemingly insurmountable evidence that Lance Armstrong participated in doping and misled Nike for more than a decade, it is with great sadness that we have terminated our contract with him,” Nike released in a statement. “Nike does not condone the use of illegal performance enhancing drugs in any manner.”

We told you that as of Aug. 1, Lance would be stripped of all titles since 1998.

Reports shmorts. Anybody can write 150 pages on someone they despise. I want physical drug tests to see what he has done. Poor guy. He’s saved millions of lives and that’s far more important than his doping regiments. People still keep on forgetting that.

Poor guy, my foot. Livestrong has done a lot of good work, that’s beyond dispute. But Lance took more drugs than the undergraduate population at Berkeley in 1968. He got away with it because the UCI’s doping controls are studiously easy to circumvent (really stopping doping would be bad for business, you see) and because he paid Dr Ferrari a fortune to advise him. He’s a cheater and fraud of the first order, and I’m glad to see his reputation in the mud where he put it.

You cheat, you fail. Plain and simple. Glad his past finally caught up with him.
