Justin pulled one of the most bizarre publicity stunts ever — by faking a ‘stolen footage’ scandal to help promote his new music video for ‘Beauty And A Beat’ with Nicki Minaj. Do YOU love the video — but do YOU feel duped?
Fans anxiously awaited for noon to arrive on Oct. 12 — when Justin Bieber‘s “extorter” was set to release a super scandalous video. Instead, fans learned they were duped by Mr. Bieber himself as the “stolen personal footage” scandal proved to be a promotional stunt for the premiere of “Beauty and a Beat” — Justin’s brand-new music video.
The second hint came when Nicki took to Twitter to tease a “big surprise” today. “Uh oh…the barbz have a BIG surprise cmng tmrw,” Nicki tweeted on Oct. 11.
But the most revealing clue of all (as our friends at Gawker pointed out) came from a screen grab of Nicki and Justin’s new video, for “Beauty And A Beat,” that showed up on Vevo. In the photo, Justin and Nicki are in front of a pool and Justin is wearing a black tank top — just like in the video posted by Perez.
On top of all these hints, Justin went on a major Twitter rant on Oct. 12, in the hour before noon, by retweeting various media reports on the subject with “#noon.”
At noon on Oct. 12, the “extorter” @Gexwy tweeted, “u have dealt with a lot of rumors for a very long time. as a kid. with the whole world watching. u ready for more?”
Justin tweeted, “since i was 14 i have had a lot of things said about me, from dying, to taking hormones, to dying again, to stuff about my family to saying i had a baby with a woman i never even met. nude pics, drugs, my family, my character…but today…today i get to be in on it.”
@Gexwy then added, “HERE IT IS,” and posted a link to Justin’s new video.
