Justin Bieber premiered his new music video for “Beauty And A Beat” on Friday, Oct. 12 after an elaborate and hysterical prank that began when the pop star claimed that his laptop and camera, with “personal footage” on them, had been stolen during a stop on his Believe tour. After a fake Twitter account “threatened” to reveal Justin’s personal videos, the music video was revealed to be the point of it all. But perhaps the biggest revelation of this whole endeavor is that Justin is becoming a true artist — he wrote and directed the whole thing!
Justin, it’s so great that you’re taking artistic control of your videos! Very few recording artists today write and direct their own music videos to such successful heights as “Beauty And A Beat”. Very few even try!
While the Believe album was all about presenting a more mature sound, it’s impressive — and important — that you’ve taken that one step further. By writing and directing this video, you’re showing that you’ve stepped fully out of the realm of “child artist” and are an adult who is in control of his career.
Between the inventive underwater filming, the awesome choreography, and the handheld filming work, the video is a blast, Justin. Job well done!

Guys if you look at the personal videos at the start they’re all shaky and his videoing is rally bad. And then look at the music video part. he’s suddenly amazing @ videoing himself :/ and at some points the camera he was apparently holding, he let go off and it just floated :P yeah he TOTAALLLYY videoed that him self….
