Look at that bun in the oven — literally! With Halloween right around the corner, some expectant ‘mummies’ with a sense of humor are incorporating their baby bump into their costume. Check out some of our favorites.
Between crazy hormones and morning sickness, pregnancy can sometimes be a real nightmare. But for these soon-to-be moms, expecting a baby during Halloween season means a lot of great costume ideas!
Whether it’s painting their bellies as pumpkins, or showing off their “bun in the oven,” the moms featured on coolest-homemade-costumes.com have used their pregnant bellies as a hilarious Halloween costume accessory.
For Jarrod Odom, his wife’s pregnancy was a chance to showcase their favorite horror movie. The costume shows what looks like tiny baby arms bursting through the pregnant woman’s bloodied stomach and holding a tiny candy basket.
“Our son was born November 6, so by the time Halloween rolled around, it absolutely felt like he was trying to burst out of her belly like the original alien Critters movie,” he wrote in a contest submission for Instructables.com. “I thought, ‘he probably just wants some candy!’ And so this costume was born.”
Other costumes took the less-graphic approach, such as a literal “mummy-to-be,” and a very round Humpty Dumpty sitting on a wall.
