Justin’s house was swarmed by police on Tuesday, October 9, according to a new report, making him the latest celebrity to fall victim to this bizarre new “swatting” prank! Read on for all the details.
Justin Bieber may have been in Tacoma, WA for a stop on his Believe tour on Tuesday, October 9, but there was plenty of activity at his home in Los Angeles, as police responded in full force to a 911 call that turned out to be a prank!
TMZ reports that a 911 call came in on Tuesday night, claiming that someone was waving a gun right next to Justin’s house. The LAPD responded with a cavalry of cars and helicopters. Sources tell the website that Justin’s security let the police into the home, where a sweep of the house didn’t turn up anything.
The report also indicates that the police did a similar sweep of two other homes on Justin’s block — a super-exclusive neighborhood that is also home to Kourtney Kardashian, Travis Barker, and various athletes.
TMZ reports that the police determined that the 911 caller “engaged in a swatting prank using an app.” As you’ll recall, Miley Cyrus fell victim to a similar prank in early August. TMZ reports that Ashton Kutcher was also similarly pranked.
We’re just glad that Justin wasn’t actually in any danger!
Do you think the caller who sent police to Justin’s house should be charged with a crime, HollywoodLifers?
