Plus, Claudia gives HollywoodLife.com a look into Magnolia’s future. There’s plenty of drama to come!
As the younger sister of Bluebell’s most dramatic resident, Magnolia Breeland (Claudia Lee) is used to standing in Lemon’s (Jaime King) shadow — but on the Oct. 9 episode of The CW’s Hart of Dixie, it’s Magnolia’s turn to step into the spotlight! “I get to sing one of my songs off my album on the show,” she tells HollywoodLife.com. ”It’s really exciting.”
Claudia will perform her new single “Take My Hand,” a song she says plays into the story line really well.
“It highlight’s Zoe’s struggles,” Claudia explains. “And I’d say Magnolia’s struggles, as well.”
She says getting to perform her original music on the show is something she was “secretly wishing for,” so when she eventually got the call, she was “thrilled.”
“I totally feel the love from my Hart of Dixie family,” Claudia says. “It’s great to be surrounded by such wonderful people that care about you. It’s an awesome family to be a part of.”
Of course, Claudia’s on-screen family is slightly less stable at the moment.
“In season two, you’re going to see a lot of scenes with Brick and Magnolia,” Claudia teases. “They’re going to have to deal with Lemon and all her new decisions. And Magnolia’s in a peculiar position: What is this relationship with Emily going to be with her father? And with Lemon? There’s a lot going on, personally, for Magnolia.”
When she’s not busy in Bluebell, Claudia is filming Kick-Ass 2 opposite Chloe Moretz, and her new role couldn’t be more different from Magnolia.
“Brooke is a very manipulative person,” Claudia says of her mean-girl character. “She manipulates people with her mind, and she really is in charge of the girls at school. We see Mindy, also known as Hit Girl, having this balance between her normal life and being a superhero. Brooke doesn’t make Mindy’s school life very easy.”
Yikes! Brooke sounds like Magnolia’s evil twin — and I can’t wait to see her in action.
