Good for Demi — she did what was best for her and got rid of people who didn’t have her best interest at heart, the ‘X Factor’ host tells ‘Teen Vogue’ magazine!
Demi Lovato opens up to the November 2012 issue of Teen Vogue and reveals how she eliminated friends in her life who were bad for her after she was released from rehab.
“I did kind of a friend cleanse right after rehab, where I weeded out people who didn’t have my best interests at heart,” Demi tells Teen Vogue.
“Now I have friends who love me for who I am and don’t care about what I’m doing … Some of them don’t even know my songs!”
On Sept. 21, Demi told Katie Couric that rehab was like “prison” for her.
“Treatment was so difficult at first. I remember walking around saying ‘I’m in prison!’” she said. “They needed to have those strict rules in order for me to understand how sick I was. I wasn’t allowed to use the bathroom by myself. We had specific phone times. There are tons of things you weren’t allowed to have, you weren’t allowed to have certain hair products or whatever, that you could injure yourself with or possibly drink, and you were just stripped of a lot of things.”
We’re glad Demi is now out of rehab and healthy! We LOVE her on X Factor!
Do YOU think it was a good idea to do a friend cleanse, HollywoodLifers?
