After hot makeout sessions and hooking up multiple times, it seems as if Chris and Rihanna are ready to give their relationship another shot. But is Chris scared of how Rihanna makes him feel? Experts weigh in!
A day after Chris Brown exclusively revealed to Hollywoodlife.com on Oct. 4 that he has broken up with Karrueche Tran, the 23-year-old singer has released a video revealing a very open and raw side of himself.
In the video, Chris, who is admittedly drunk, reveals a side of him we’ve never seen before. There’s no doubt Chris is struggling with his feelings for both Rihanna and Karrueche!
But expert and author of Bad Girls, Dr. Carole Lieberman, says that Chris and Rihanna are drawn to each other like moths to a flame, and that the two ultimately knew they would end up together.
“It was inevitable that [Chris and Rihanna] would get back together. Chris — and Karrueche — both knew this,” Dr. Lieberman explains.
“Chris is afraid of the strength of his powerful emotions towards Rihanna – both his fear of getting hurt if (or when) she dumps him, and his fear of losing control and battering her again,” she says.
Fellow expert and 30-Second Therapist Dr. Gilda Carle agrees that Chris’ intense feelings are tearing him apart.
“He’s always had a thing for Rihanna, and she’s been very obvious in her attempts at wooing him back,” Dr. Gilda says. “But he’s been involved with Karrueuche for some time, and he admittedly has feelings for her, too. However, he’s willing to cast her aside to return to the ‘history’ he’s enjoyed with Rihanna.”
Despite the fact that Rihanna has remained loyal to Chris, even opening up that he is her true love and best friend, Chris could still be afraid of jumping into a relationship with Rihanna right away.
“He’s afraid that Rihanna is just trying to prove that she can get him back and then will dump him,” Dr. Lieberman says.
This fear could be why Chris felt as if he had to sneak around with Rihanna before officially ending things with Karrueche.
“Chris was crudely covering his bases, testing the waters with Rihanna, while he was still with Karreuche,” Dr. Gilda explains. Although this was not the best way to handle the situation, Chris is clearly learning to manage his feelings for both Rihanna and Karrueche!
Hopefully, Chris doesn’t let his internal struggles ruin his relationship with Rihanna this time around!

there’s no evidence their love is more powerful than yours or mine. They just love the drama and rebelliousness of it. Chris will find her overpowering once again eventually, and will miss the freedom karrueche gave him. It’s inevitable that he will cheat on her and we will see just how far rihanna’s forgiveness goes, as I for one am sick of seeing her quoting the bible, then putting the knife into karrueche, who lets face it, has done nothing wrong in all of this. But i must say it’s all very interesting!
