Despite causing a ruckus on the set of ‘American Idol’ and even allegedly threatening to shoot Mariah Carey, Nicki is safe at her new job and will not be fired — for now, a source reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY!
Drama, drama and more drama continues to unfold with Nicki Minaj and her explosive temperament, but this won’t affect her job status. In fact, the American Idol producers are loving all the chaos, at least for the time being.
An American Idol insider tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “The threat is there but Nicki Minaj will not be fired this week or anytime soon. It’s both a wait-and-see to see if things improve on set, which they have, and her contract is also guaranteed, so that’s millions down the drain if they let her go. But if she quits, then they recoup the money. Plus, this is ratings gold, so the executives are loving it for the time being.”
“What does everyone look at on the highway? The car wreck!” says the source.
On The View this morning, Oct. 4, Mariah Carey revealed to Barbara Walters that Nicki threatened to shoot her! Mariah said American Idol staffers heard Nicki say, “If I had a gun, I would shoot the b**ch!”
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, the two divas got into a major fight while filming auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Nicki cursed and dropped the “F” word numerous times.
A meeting was held on Oct. 3 with the judges and the producers to discuss the incident. After the meeting, Mariah told Barbara that Nicki approached her and said “I love you, but we might fight again.” Mariah responded, “No, we won’t.”
Should Nicki get fired from American Idol? What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers?
