In MTV’s new special, ‘Amber Behind Bars’, Amber tears up in an interview with Dr. Drew Pinsky as she reveals that  baby daddy Gary, Shirley hasn’t even brought baby Leah to visit her in jail. Click to watch.

Amber Portwood‘s life has been on a downward spiral ever since we first met her on MTV’s hit television show 16 & Pregnant. After repeated drug use and rehab violations, Amber is  now locked up in Indiana’s Rockville Correctional Facility  for up to five years. Now she’s speaking out from behind bars in an emotional interview with Dr. Drew Pinksy.

Poor Amber. The  Teen Mom, 22, tells Dr. Drew Pinsky that she feels like ‘ s**t, because Gary  has refused to visit her in jail and that means that he has also NOT brought  baby Leah to visit her in jail. ‘ I’ve sent papers to Gary to sign twice’ so  he could bring Leah to see me but he hasn’t done that, Amber  told Dr. Drew sadly. It makes me  feel ”like I don’t even matter – I never mattered,” Amber confesses. So far Amber’s only visiter in jail, has been her mother.

But what really and understandably had Amber crying was talking about how her daughter, Leah, almost 3, tells her ‘I love you” and “I miss you’  when she talks to her on the phone. ‘ I want to come over to your house’ baby Leah has told Amber in jail. ” She doesn’t understand that I’m in jail, ” Amber explains to Dr. Drew and then points out that ” I don’t know what to say- what do you say to a 3 year-old.”

So true Amber. Your heart really goes out to Amber  when she admits that she has let her daughter Leah down. ” How many times can you keep letting a kid down.”
